chartered in 1953 our association is a local affiliate
of the National Association of Home Builders, a
Washington, DC based trade association representing more
than 235,000 members involved in home building,
remodeling, multifamily construction, property
management, subcontracting, design, housing finance,
building product manufacturing, and other aspects of
residential and light commercial construction. We are
"the voice of the housing industry".

the home building industry in
New York City. Whether single or
multi-family homes or small
commercial buildings, our
members are part of an industry
that is one of the most heavily
regulated in the nation. They
must comply with literally
hundreds of federal, state and
local laws and regulations on
each project. Often these laws
and regulations conflict with
one another and may be
interpreted differently in
different Boroughs of the City
and differently by the various
agencies that enforce the law
